How to register a .ng or .com.ng domain from outside Nigeria, paid in US dollars
Yes. .com.ng and .ng are open endings, so a person or company outside Nigeria can register one, with no Nigerian address needed for these two. With us a .com.ng costs $2.70 (₦3,600 in Nigeria) for the first year and a .ng costs $8.10 (₦10,800 in Nigeria). Visitors outside Nigeria pay in US dollars by card or crypto, and the name is registered in your name within 10 minutes of payment.
Which Nigerian endings you can register
The Nigerian registry (NiRA) splits endings into open and closed ones. Open endings can be registered by anyone, anywhere. Closed endings are reserved for groups that have to prove who they are, such as government bodies or accredited schools, and we do not sell those.
| Ending | First year | Renewal per year | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| .com.ng | $2.70 (₦3,600 in Nigeria) | $6.37 (₦8,500 in Nigeria) | Open to anyone. The usual choice for a business. |
| .ng | $8.10 (₦10,800 in Nigeria) | $13.79 (₦18,400 in Nigeria) | Open to anyone. The shortest Nigerian address. |
| .org.ng | $6.30 (₦8,400 in Nigeria) | $6.30 (₦8,400 in Nigeria) | Meant for non-profit organisations. |
| .net.ng | $6.37 (₦8,500 in Nigeria) | $6.37 (₦8,500 in Nigeria) | Meant for internet and network providers under the registry rules. |
- Closed, not sold here: .gov.ng (government), .edu.ng (accredited universities and colleges), .sch.ng (approved schools), .mil.ng (military). They need proof of eligibility from the registry.
- Renewals cost more than the first year on some endings, so check the renewal column before you choose.
- We also sell .com, .net and .org if you want a global ending next to your Nigerian one.
How to register one from abroad, step by step
- Search the name on the domains page. Type yourbrand to check .com, .com.ng, .ng and .org together, or a full name such as yourbrand.com.ng.
- Choose Register next to an available name. A search does not reserve it; the name is held for 60 minutes once you start an order.
- Add the owner details: full name, email, phone, street address, city, state or region and country. Any country works for .com.ng and .ng.
- Pay at checkout. Outside Nigeria the price is in US dollars, by card or crypto (USDT, USDC and other coins the checkout offers). Only a verified full payment counts.
- The name is registered in your name within 10 minutes of payment, and your order page shows when it is done.
- Point it at your website or email: set nameservers or DNS records (A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT) in the domain panel linked from your order. Any host in any country works.
After you buy: managing and renewing
Your order page and email carry a link to the domain panel. There you see the expiry date, change nameservers and records, get the EPP (transfer) code and renew. If you lose the link, go to /manage and enter your order code and email to receive a fresh one.
A registered domain cannot be cancelled or refunded, because the registry charges for it. If we cannot register the name, for example because someone else took it in the meantime, you get a full refund.
For AI agents
An agent checks a name with the MCP tool check_domain_availability on https://www.xpressflowsystems.com.ng/api/mcp, then starts the order with create_domain_order. The order needs the real owner's contact details and accept_terms set only when the person agreed to the Terms. It returns an approval_url; the person opens it and pays, so nothing is charged without them. Pass currency USD for a dollar price.
Check a name over HTTP:
curl -s -X POST https://www.xpressflowsystems.com.ng/api/domains/availability \
-H 'content-type: application/json' \
-d '{"domainName":"yourbrand.com.ng"}'Questions
Do I need a Nigerian address or company for a .com.ng?
No. .com.ng and .ng are open endings. Use your real details in any country. Closed endings such as .gov.ng, .edu.ng and .sch.ng need proof of eligibility and are not sold here.
Can I pay in US dollars?
Yes. Visitors outside Nigeria see and pay US dollars, by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay (where your device supports it) or crypto. Visitors in Nigeria pay naira by card or bank transfer.
Can I move the domain to another registrar later?
Yes. The domain panel gives you the EPP code that another registrar asks for.
Will it work with my host abroad?
Yes. Set your host's nameservers, or add its A, CNAME and MX records, in the domain panel.
