How to set up a proxy: Chrome, Windows, Mac, phone and antidetect browsers

Your proxy comes as one line: host:port:username:password. Split it into four parts and paste them into the proxy settings of your device, browser or app. Then open an IP checker site to confirm the address changed.

Read your line

Example: 1.2.3.4:8000:myuser:mypass. Host is 1.2.3.4, port is 8000, username is myuser, password is mypass. Choose HTTP as the proxy type unless told otherwise.

Antidetect browsers (AdsPower and similar)

  1. Create or edit a profile.
  2. Open the Proxy section and pick HTTP.
  3. Paste the whole line, or fill host, port, username and password.
  4. Click Check proxy, then save the profile.

Chrome (any computer)

  1. Install a proxy extension such as a proxy switcher from the Chrome Web Store.
  2. Add a new HTTP proxy with your host and port.
  3. Enter the username and password when asked.
  4. Switch it on and open an IP checker to confirm.

Windows

  1. Open Settings, Network and internet, Proxy.
  2. Under Manual proxy setup, click Set up.
  3. Turn it on, enter host and port, then Save.
  4. Your browser asks for the username and password the first time.

Mac

  1. Open System Settings, Network, your connection, Details, Proxies.
  2. Turn on Web proxy (HTTP) and Secure web proxy (HTTPS).
  3. Enter host and port, tick that it needs a password, then add username and password.
  4. Click OK.

iPhone and Android

  1. Open Wi-Fi settings and tap your network.
  2. Find HTTP proxy (iPhone: Configure proxy, Manual. Android: Advanced, Proxy, Manual).
  3. Enter host and port, and on iPhone turn on Authentication for username and password.
  4. Save. Many apps on Android need a proxy app for a username and password.

Not working?
